General information

The Centre for Development and Cooperation started its activities in 2007, as the Coordination Office for Development and Cooperation of UAS (Universities of applied sciences) and UTE (Universities of teacher education) distributing funds on behalf of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.

During seven years, until 2013, 44 applied research projects from a variety of disciplines were funded in different developing countries and implemented by different Swiss institutions (see final report).

From 2017 the Centre operates in university education, continuing education, applied research, and in the provision of consulting and support services to businesses and institutions. Within SUPSI we are a core group designed to promote applied research, knowledge development and innovation in the field of development and cooperation. We address partners such as the general public, non-governmental organizations, public institutions and social enterprises.
