While most of the excellence research is carried out in partnership with high income countries such as countries of the European Union, USA/Canada, Japan and BRICS, the focus on developing countries allows young researcher and students to receive a more complete and meaning full insight of the world as a whole. A consistent feed-back on lessons learned in developing countries is constantly delivered to undergraduate students during classes led by researchers coming back from the field. Further, continuing education in this domain is implemented with three Certificates of Advanced Studies: CAS in Development and Cooperation (courses mainly in Italian and English), CAS in Water Sanitation and Hygiene (in English), CAS Performing Arts Practice in Conflict Zones (in English).
